Not having seen the television version of Horton Hears a Who, I can’t say whether this is better or not. But it’s a perfect rendition on its bear, and I found it thoroughly enjoyable—as did a 16-year-old with whom I saw the film yesterday.

There are trustworthy Seuss-like characters curious on the conceal, and their personalities match 100% those of the unique two-dimensional Horton, Morton and friends who graced the pages of the safe Dr.’s astonishing book.
My fondest memories of Horton include his egg-hatching episode. But that in no arrangement diminishes the delight of seeing our extinct Elephant companion, dancing and prancing his arrangement up a mountain side—through myriad obstacles—to a well-behaved shrimp cave where the Whos and their Whoville can safely reside.

Children young and passe, including grandparent-variety kids, will esteem this delicious and lustrous myth about sticking to one’s highest goals, through thick and thin, and against the advice of all one’s friends.
The classic Seuss account makes it to the mountainous veil and I was very elated with the results. I usually collect that children’s books made into movies can be unnecessarily long and drawn out to form a decent movie time; therefore they tend to hobble a bit for this mammoth kid at the theater. I opinion this one was titanic, a perfect length and it held the interest of my two year veteran niece who made her debut at the theater that day. When the movie was over she excitedly asked “are we going to peer it again? ”
This movie has all the quirky scenery that you examine from Dr. Seuss; from the funky trees and crazy houses, to the wonderfully imaginative Who’s, nothing disappointed. I was a microscopic petrified to witness this as Jim Carey usually grates on every nerve I have with his overacting and hyperactive persona, but he made a savory Horton and I found myself enjoying him for the first time in years.
I recognized a lot of the voices and concept them extremely well cast; Carol Burnett as a villain was a surprise and a treat. My sister and I laughed out loud a lot throughout this film, we enjoyed it as worthy if not more than our kids. The lessons in Horton Hears a Who are simple and one can’t relieve but judge how the world would be a better state if everyone had a miniature more Horton in them. I really found the whole movie fun and this is definitely a movie I will seize when it makes it to DVD.

Streaming Andre Rieu - Live in Australia Online.
Movie Title: Andre Rieu - Live in Australia Andre Rieu - Live in Australia is available for streaming or downloading. Click Here to Stream or Download Andre Rieu - Live in Australia |
Of all the Andre Rieu performances that I have witnessed, going encourage many years on VHS through the world-wide productions on DVD, this explain he gave in Australia is superlative to extremes. I have no doubt that some will say this is not the classical Rieu, and therefore not so substantial, but on this occasion, he successfully presented a exhibit that could satisfy all tastes, from those of the “general” public to those of the “unique” musical genre. And that is what loyal entertainment is all about. I don’t deem maestro Rieu will beat it, but I’m quite ecstatic to live with all his successes culminating in his grand triumph in Melbourne.
“Live in Australia” is a feast for the eyes and ears as Andre Rieu’s first DVD featuring the glorious Schonbrunn Castle station. There are original Australian numbers on this DVD, as well as less-played songs from unusual shows and recent arrangements of songs like “Bolero.” Andre fearlessly includes the realities of live performance, not editing out a microphone failure on “You Belong to Me”. Thousands of Australians filled the Telstradome for this concert, and you can peer Andre’s emotion as he plays “Waltzing Matilda” at the demolish of the encores.

Watch On Deadly Ground Online.
Movie Title: On Deadly Ground On Deadly Ground is available for streaming or downloading. |
The place : environmentally sensitive macho-man versus detestable oil tycoon looking to exploit the virgin wilderness of the nature loving Eskimos. It sounds like an A-Team episode. The dialouge is almost droll - “you are the maintain” the shaman says to Forest, the main character, “you have a destiny to fufill”. Uggh, cliche city. The action sequences are sub-par and are made all the more stupid because Forest is essentially a super-man, and from begining to slay the supporting characters never demolish an opportunity to philosophize us unbiased how mountainous he is. The movie is capped off with a sappy, anti-corporate speech (complete with canned images of smog-filled cities and oil-soaked seals) . I watched this entire movie because I’m overseas and english-language entertainment is hard to reach by. Otherwise I would have stopped watching it within 20 minutes, easy.
Save yourself a rental fee and pass up this movie. The martial arts are awful to non-existent, and the required bar fight scene is truly hilarious, especially when an overweight and out-of-shape Seagal leaps onto a table to fight one of the abominable guys. It is a factual miracle of recent carpentry that the tiny table doesn’t collapse from Mr. Seagal’s ponderous bodyweight. The “politics” slack this movie are simplistic, and hopelessly outdated, with oil company tycoons as the villains and the barely literate Seagal delivering a speech at the raze of the movie that, once again, is unintentionally hilarious in its absurdity.

Two Lost Worlds Streaming.
Movie Title: Two Lost Worlds Two Lost Worlds is available for streaming or downloading. |
Before making a career out of the TV present “Gunsmoke,” James Arness appeared in a series of classic 1950s science fiction films, including THEM!, THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD, and INVADERS FROM MARS. TWO LOST WORLDS, an unhappy mess, was not one of them.
TWO LOST WORLDS tries to be too many things at the same time; it has pirates, ranchers, melodramatic lovers, and intensely annoying “cute” characters like Salty, a awful walking stereotype who’s supposed to provide comical relief. No one will complain again about Jar Jar Binks from STAR WARS EPISODE I after seeing this turkey. The DVD’s packaging promises “Prehistoric Time’s Most Awesome Spectacle” and shows two dinosaurs slugging it out. We do peek lizards that are supposed to be dinosaurs about 45 minutes into the film. They may be onscreen for about 2 minutes tops. Not exactly truth in advertising.
Image Entertainment has been releasing DVDs of passe curiosities to cult fans for a couple years now, and largely I’ve been overjoyed of it. TWO LOST WORLDS, however, has nothing to offer to even film fans who beget in the old-fashioned adage “this is so dreadful it’s capable”. The movie is barely an hour long — a scant 61 minutes — and offers no special features outside of a list of other James Arness movies. Contemplate carefully whether you really want to use the dough on this film.
Wow. Gathering together miles of stock footage, using leftover sets and costumes, and with a narrator whose dialogue HAD to be written by Ed Wood (c’mon, NO ONE else could write like that!), this is one of the most stupefying flicks I’ve ever reach across. The “clipper ship” has the most Freudian bowsprit I’ve ever seen (certainly nothing like those actually Aged), but don’t exertion - nothing stays on hide for more than a couple of minutes. The budge is downright frantic - clipper ship, pirates, battle, wild kangaroos, sheep, period-costume ball, another ship, another pirate battle, burning ships, lost island, “dinosaurs”, volcano, aid to the novel clipper. All in about 60 minutes! Yikes!

This one may be of some interest to older Detroit-area viewers because the co-star is Bill Kennedy. Bill old-fashioned to host a daily TV afternoon movie (abet in those halcyon days before everything was syndicated to death), trading in on his days as a B-movie actor. He also gets the funniest scene in the movie, when, after having a tremendous (styrofoam) volcanic boulder bounce off of him, he lays down, tells Arness to “capture care of Elaine”, then jerks his head to the left in the quickest “death scene” I’ve ever seen. Worth the sign of the DVD objective to sight THAT!
The dinosaurs? Sheesh - must have been passe from somewhere else, because they leer VERY familiar (in a cheesy Irwin Allen contrivance) . But they’re impartial stuck in with less than 15 minutes to go, and have NO bearing on the “region”. Without them, this would have been a “pure” costume-drama. With them, hmmmm, not worthy improvement.
Not really recommendable unless you want to try out your skills as an MST riffer. (This would have been a Mammoth note, with enough extra time for a short!) A bit faster paced than “Lost Continent” (what isn’t? ), which was made the same year, but LOOKS 30 years older due to the 1830’s setting and relentless costuming, and nowhere Come the rewatchability factor. Worth a inspect if you can regain it cheap unprejudiced to explore Bill Kennedy and his howler of a death scene.
